TASHKOO VoIP Telephone Systems
VoIP stands for voice over IP which is basically an IP telephony system which uses Internet to manage the delivery of voice communications. In a VoIP system, instead of using traditional PABX equipment and circuits, the voice would be converted to digital form in discrete packets to be transmitted over IP network.
VoIP communication is possible in three ways:
1- Softphones:
VoIP will be software based , using an app in a mobile device or PC plus microphone and speaker. Skype is a very popular softphone-based VoIP service, these services are normally free
2- Regular Phones using VoIP:
Regular telephone sets can be used with many VoIP services by plugging them into an analogue telephone adapter (ATA) from the VoIP provider or third party. The ATA converts the phone signals to IP packets.
3- IP Phones (Built in VoIP):
In IP phones the ATA is built in and the phone can be plugged directly to a LAN switch or router.
